What is the process for renewing a retirement visa in Thailand for those with physical or mental disabilities?

I used both and no problem.

But was denied manyvyears ago and repported it to ombudsman and got confirmation that both can be used.

And yellow house book is just confirmation where you live and replace residence certificate.

Pink id is a non Thai id and with that you get an outdated requirement that you need apply to leave province. (Mainly used for migrant workers).

I just renewed my licence at Bang Lamung and needed Residence Certificate from Immigration. They would not accept my pink ID or Yellow book.

I just done mine in nong han outside udon just my old licence and pink id card + medical check at the doctors

I used the Pink Non-Thai ID to renew my driving licence in January 2026. They just requested a copy of the Yellow House Registration, a copy of the Pink Thai ID, and a doctor's certificate. However, you must arrange an appointment with DLT beforehand.

Another option is to get your embassy letter to DLT. This will work.

I renewed my Thai driver's license using my pink ID card, but now they won't issue me an international driving permit. I should have renewed it using my passport.

Just go to Immigration and get the certificate

Yeah it sucks to pay 500 baht, plus the time visiting Immigration

DLT took 1 min to look at my documents/certificates I was told to go upstairs and do the eye and brake tests 15 mins later I had my 5 year car and bike licences

they excepted me with yellow book & pink card, number used is pink card not pp

Did mine 2 months ago and i had 2 options

a. passport / work permit / address certification letter from immigration / health check

b. pink card / yellow book / health check / and something from the district office couldn't remember

I had exactly the same thing at my local DLT office when I went to renew my driving licence.

You should go to your Amphur with your yellow Tabian Baan and ask for a Tor Ror . This can be issued in both Thai and English and costs 10 Baht per certificate. For the DLT I got both languages because the driving licence has our name and address in English.

The Tor Ror also works as a resident certificate at the bank. It's what a Thai person would get if their Tabian Baan was not acceptable.

my local DLT won't allow me to renew the DL, despite me showing a yellow housebook and my passport. Only when my girlfriend showed them her blue housebook and Thai ID-card, and after she confirmed that I still live in her house, the DLT was willing to accept my yellow housebook. Otherwise I would have made them to call my Immigration. The Immigration boss a few years ago said she would never issue a certificate of residence for me anymore, because I live with my girlfriend such a long time, that it would be time now to get the yellow housebook. And that's what I did

It's all part of the "Farang Gravy Train" - 500Bt to the Immigration Police. If you try find a cheaper route, they create extra work in the hope you ll pay an Agent. Or go back to Route 1 and CoR 500Bt.

You have to just see yourself as a revenue stream here. You are nothing else.

I know many will disagree but all these comments are why I use a reputable agent. I had all of my documents checked and all forms completed for me. Was in the DLT on Sukhumvit area 3 for 45 minutes in total. Jumped the queue did the physical tests had my photo taken and headed back home with 2 licenses on my wallet.

It's a roll of the dice wherever you go, a friend and myself just got our yellow house book and pink ID card from the same office, we were both asked for different forms of paperwork. We both had to have our passports translated, his had to be approved by the MFA mine didn't have to be approved. It just depends who you get on the day.

The COR is valid only 30 days, so is up to date, the yellow book/pink card can be years old which is why mist DLT want a COR

I went this morning got my Thai driving license. I went to immigration yesterday and got a residence form that states where I live cost 500baht. This was accepted this morning DLT but they said next time I can use my yellow book and I will not need to spend the 500baht

Yes, my local DLT say they now wanta residence certificate even though I renewed last time with YTB and Pink id TIT.

Last time I had to wait 7 days to collect my proof of residency at immigration, upon picking it up, it had my name but another persons address, so they issued a new one while I waited (10 mins ) so what was the 7 days wait for in the first instance? .

said himself the pink ID is based on the yellow book which is the residency document, this is why I have successfully used it to prove I’m a resident here many time.

First of all, pink ID has nothing to do with residency. It's the yellow book that is a residency document. The pink ID is based on the yellow book, but the yellow book comes first. If they accepted anything, it would be the yellow book, not the pink ID.

It's very common nowadays for DLT offices to not accept yellow books and only accept residence certificates from immigration.
