This group really supported me in my application which has now been approved, so thought I would share my experience incase it can help others.

Background- been in Thailand for about a year and a half on tourist visas. I travel on 2 passports, British and Irish.

Applied under workcation to HCMC, after 3 working days it got cancelled due to wrong date of issue in passport. I applied again the following day uploading the same documents, 2 working days I got asked for the folllowing:

Other request documents: Please provide a business registration document showing the company name, the name of the legal representative, and a company profile that includes details about its history, vision, mission, products, and achievements. -

I had already given this, I am a freelancer but have had the same one client for a year, so I gave their certificate registering at companies house as well as confirmation that I have registered as a sole trader, along with websites, LinkedIn etc.

Other request documents: examples of your work, along with any supporting materials that demonstrate your experience and qualifications, etc.-

again had submitted this, but due to sensitive information had to block a lot of info out. I then submitted meeting minutes along with letter templates and CV.

Document indicating current location: Please provide the latest copy of your full passport, including all pages (even the empty ones). If you have a Temporary Resident Card (TRC), kindly submit it along with the passport. The photos must show the date and time they were taken.-

I uploaded all pages of both passports and also added my hotel booking and a selfie outside the hotel with date and time.

After submitting it was another 3.5 working days and then I got approved 🙂

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares their successful experience in applying for a workcation visa in Thailand after a year and a half on tourist visas. They faced challenges with documentation due to issues with their passport but ultimately submitted the required documents, including proof of business registration, examples of work, and full passport copies. They recommend keeping original documents without redactions and suggest printing the visa email for proof when entering Thailand.

Do not block anything out, you are dealing directly with a governmental office, not a 3. part dodgy agent.

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
