Good Morning All. I'm asking for a friend but how easy is it going from a working non b visa to the tourist visa? I assume they just cancel their non b and apply for the tourist visa at their local immigration on the same day? Thank You

TLDR : Answer Summary
The possibility of switching from a Non-B visa to a Tourist visa inside Thailand is not feasible. A tourist visa can only be applied for at an embassy outside of Thailand. Individuals may explore options such as obtaining a COVID extension or considering an Ed Visa for studying Thai language, but direct conversion to a tourist visa is not permitted under current rules.

Maybe only slight possibility of that he can get tourist 'status' in-country (and if it's really not impossible - which I'm not sure) would be to get Covid extension then go for Elite. You can ask Elite office about the possibility.

You can not get normal Tourist visa / status in-country.

What you are asking is NOT POSSIBLE.

You cannot obtain a tourist visa inside Thailand.

IF your FRIEND is a teacher...

Suggest they do not quit their job. As its extremely difficult to get a new Non b inside Thailand.

Thanks all for your input...

His FRIEND has little choice other than hope to still be able to obtain a COVID extension...if available...and/or obtain an Ed Visa to study Thai language.

We wish him success.
