Hi all.

I am applying for a DTV visa from Holland. It says that all visa applied for where the leaving date is more than 90 days away will be rejected. We need the visa to apply for the school for my son, because it has a payment obligation. Anyone knows something about this?

Answer summary

A user is applying for a DTV visa from Holland but faces a restriction stating that visas applied for with a departure date more than 90 days away will be rejected. They need the visa to enroll their son in school which has a payment obligation. Others in the community suggest that it's possible to indicate a nearer arrival date to avoid rejection, and clarify that the son's school enrollment would likely lead to a separate visa issuance for him. Several comments discussed concerns over arrival checks and visa types.

What type of visa will your son have?

You can always buy a flexible flight ticket, or one that can be cancelled. Once your DTV is approved, you are flexible to arrive for the first time at any moment, even after 59 months, if you want. Are you applying for softpower?

Yes I understand that I could do that.. 😉

Is there anywhere where they check this when arriving or did someone experience this?

I mean, you can basically just say you’re arriving in a month and unless they ask for a booked flight or paid for accommodation it’ll be fine.

That being said, I don’t quite understand why you yourself require a visa in order to apply for a school for your son as they would get a separate visa off the basis of studying.
