TLDR : Answer Summary
In May 2023, Kawthong is reportedly open for border crossings, allowing for 'border bounces' without the need for visas. In contrast, the Andaman Club may be open, but it lacks immigration services, making Kawthong the preferred crossing point. Recent discussions highlight mixed reviews of the Andaman Club's condition, with some labeling it as outdated.

Numerous reports that Kwathoung is open for crossing and even a 2 week holiday ( with in 20 kms)

No visa needed>

whats nice about Ranong immigration is, they will not stamp you out if they know you cant get back

I read that the Andaman Club is a bit of a dump nowadays and not worth staying or visiting there. It's like stepping back into the 80s.

@Paul ******
I last visited there in March 2020 (13th,,,, 2 days beforw lockdown) I wouldnt call it a dump,,, it was clean and all that..... more like a service station on the m6

Yes, but I see from the photos that it's very dated. Being old or being a "dump" doesn't need to imply something is dirty. It's a term used to describe an accommodation that is old, hasn't been renovated, not value for money, that kind of thing.

If I were to spend the night in the area, I'd rather stay at that nice 4 star place just outside of Kawthoung or even better, Bruer or Nyaung Oo Phee island.

I saw a comment a few days ago saying the Andaman Club crossing was open. Have no idea if this is correct or not just hearsay.

Someone recently posted a report about crossing at ranong and its open. (Search group you want to read)

But not the anadaman club

@Michael *******
Oh, that is strange but it does explain why the Andaman Club doesn't appear on any Myanmar government website as an official entry point.

Thank you, I had read that. I hoped May would have brought better news about Grand Andaman; it was a very easy crossing.

@Jan *********
yes andaman club is nice and easy

@Michael *******
Do they have their own dedicated immigration?
Michael ********
@Paul ******
yes they do

@Michael *******
Oh interesting. So you could enter Myanmar there with a stamp that says "Andaman Club, Myanmar" and theoretically proceed to other parts of the country too?
Michael ********
@Paul ******
no you cannot leave the andaman club. If you stay there there are some excursions to surrounding islands but it doesnt give you a pass to travel further.

Last I heard was Kawthong open. Andaman club open BUT no immigration there. Do can only do border bounce at Kawthong.

If you're going from Phuket I can put together a minibus leaving Rawai 5am max 8 people in 10 seat minivan. No stupid drivers. Pm me for details. ❣️

So that answers a question I had about Andaman club. It means you have to stamp in and out at Kawthoung right? Then proceed to the Andaman club from there?

@Paul ******
im awating an answer about the andaman club..... but as of now, no change re that one
