What is the current state of tourism and shopping in Patong and surrounding areas?

The flow of patrons vary depending on the day of the week, including lottery drawing days, pay days, etc. The crowds in BKK and Pattaya flows rapidly based on the norms in Thailand.

mentioned; places like Patong and Pattaya have been dying for years. Covid and policy have just added more fuel to the fire.

On a side note: Pattaya has been spending 💰 on underground infrastructure through the area recently. Paving the way for the new China.. perhaps new Chinese "boomers" will settle here in the coming years... New light rail is on it's way. Albeit; to the debt of the countries it passes through.

These are just insights and not necessarily my opinion..

Mate I don’t know how long you’ve been coming to this country but Bangla,Phuket and any other tourist destination you like to name in this country have been dying for the at least the last 10 years, way before Covid was even heard of. This is still a great country but is being ruined by poor leadership as in most countries in the would today.

BC has been opened for heaps, unless I’m blind, Karon & kata shops are still struggling to get there. It’s a lot better. How ever we need more tourists to get the confidence back. Get over here it’s 🏖⛱🏝🏝🏝just do it👍
