Hello everyone! I would like to know the situation in Phuket under the sandbox program.im supposed to arrive on the 10th of September. I used to live in Thailand for a long time before this COVID-19 madness hit. I know the situation is not ideal,but will i be able to find some places open at night to wind up? Only objectively reasonable answers please.

TLDR : Answer Summary
As of late August 2021, the nightlife in Phuket is severely restricted due to COVID-19 measures. Selling alcohol at restaurants is banned, and almost all businesses are required to close by 10pm. With the increasing case rate, stricter curfews could be implemented, potentially closing everything as early as 8pm. While some daytime activities such as dining and shopping are still possible, those seeking a nightlife experience in bars will likely be disappointed.

Friends have been enjoying old Phuket today, lunch, ice cream, shopping. The Phuket Nature Elephant reserve at Thalang has group hikes on the weekends, great lunches, elephants to meet. There are beautiful beaches to enjoy. But some people who prefer only sitting in bars will be disappointed . . It depends what you want.

Given the fact that Covid cases are increasing in Phuket and they're talking about instituting stricter measures, I doubt you'll find what you're looking for. If Phuket gets added as a red zone, they'll fall under the 9pm-4am curfew where every single business closes at 8pm.

As of right now, selling alcohol at restaurants is banned, and everything is closed at 10pm. The situation in Phuket is getting worse because they used Sinovac as the vaccine ๐Ÿ™

I can confirm there's a good amount of bars open every night, a few until midnight.

how about phuket has over 70% vaxinated and the cases are still climbing ? is that scientific enuff for you ?

@Phill *****
Not really scientific. The vaccine doesnt stop the spread of covid in the short term but it will severely lessen the effects of the virus.
