Hello,

I’m going to the thai consulate in Vientiane to apply for an ED-visa today. I’m lucky to be number 1 in line for the appointment.

But when i look it up on Google Maps, it shows two different locations. Can anyone tell me which is the correct one? And how early should i be there? Thank you.

Serhan Ulas and where did you find this text?

okay, those schools without classrooms and teachers, but a nice lady that copies all for you to meet the requirements of a visa. That is the reason these schools got blacklisted in Savanakhet,

I was there just after 8, the gates opened just after 9, and I would think there were about 40 people outside then. They let in those with qeue number 1-20 first which I was in, then walked over to a desk marked step 1 (appointment confirmation) and step 2 (document screening). I had all required documents except a copy of my entrance stamp to Laos and Lao visa. My mistake. Was told to go to the second floor where a lady did the copies for me for 10 baht. When I came down people sat neatly in line for the 3 window counters accepting the application, and within a couple of minutes I handed in mine, the lady looked through it all and gave me a note telling me what time to pick it up tomorrow. No payment done today, I was surprised by this. The lady said “if you get visa, you pay tomorrow 2000 baht”. Fingers crossed!

Glad you got it! I'll make sure bringing my bank statement, thanks so much! Do you happen to know the reason why those got denied?

Tsai Ting Chen i got mine, all well with no interview.

There were several others who got denied that same day, though.

I reccomend bringing a recently bank statement to show you have money in your account, even though it’s not on their required list.

Hi
@Charlotte *******
, This is very helpful to know as I'm going to Vientiane next week for my ED-Visa too. Do you mind if I ask did you get your ED-Visa OK in Vientiane? Did you have an interview on the 2nd day? Thanks in advance.

Update: as Jude mentioned, the correct location is the “embassy of Thailand” on google maps. I just got here and we are currently 15 people waiting outside.

You're not the only foreigner in Lao going to the thai consulate

Follow the herd, and believe me every tuk-tuk & and moto driver knows where to take you

I was considering walking, since my hotel is only about 1,5 km from both locations on the map. Have a nice day!

Going myself today too. How did you get a place number prior to visiting?
Alex ***********
Jude England incorrect. You receive your queue number when you make your online booking and they open at 9.
George *********
OK I'll have a look I think you still get a tickeylt upon arrival. Opens at 8 earlier you get there the better. Don't know the correct location ( I'm with a group )
