TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses various options for obtaining a SIM card in Thailand, particularly focusing on eSIMs and physical SIM cards. Users suggest several online sources for eSIMs, such as Airalo and Maya.net, and recommend purchasing a SIM card upon arrival at Bangkok airport for convenience. They mention checking phone compatibility for eSIMs and provide promotional links for data packs.

Google your phone model to see if it is esim compatible

Using this eSIM right now-easy to activate and works like a dream - Hey, have you tried an eSIM? Get US$3 off your first eSIM data pack from Airalo. Use code ANDREW2009 when you sign up or apply it at checkout.

That depends entirely on what exact model phone you have and where in the world you are. Do a Google search using your phone make & model, your country and eSIM, and you’ll find lists of compatible devices.

My cell phone carrier is T mobile. Didn’t have to buy a SIM card. I actually read that before I went to Thailand and they were right!

depends on where you live, you could buy on amazon . . however I recommend, you but a SIM card upon arrival at the BKK airport. The people who sell them in tose booths just outside of Thai customs, will take care of everything and activate it for you
make aure that your model of phone can take an esim ( older phones can’t ) and make sure your carrier has unlocked your phone or neither physical. Or an eSim will work
Ive done that last time with a phone with a physical SIM card.. but next time ill have a new phone with only eSIM option, will they also be able to get me all set up at the airport ?
Thanks, i have no idea either which is why im hoping they’ll be able to do it at the airport.. i am guessing that, by now, they have dealt with lots of eSIM-only phones .

and any phone shop inside Thailand . you will get helped
Not to belabor the point, but with an eSIM i dont believe there is any actual “installation” per se, like there is with a physical SIM.. im just hoping they can tell me how to use their service with my phone’s eSIM , im assuming it wont be a problem .
