TLDR : Answer Summary
For Australian travelers frequenting Thailand, several community members recommend using AIS for its reliability and seamless connectivity. Some users also mention a one-year DTAC sim card, offering 100GB of data and 100 minutes for 1700 baht, which appears to be a cost-effective option, especially in Bangkok where DTAC offers superior speed.

I paid 1700 baht for a 1 year DTAC sim. Works out less than 150 per month with 100GB & 100 mins per month
If you’re staying in Bangkok DTAC is miles faster.
