Good morning everybody, if I want to arrange a land exit from Pai, could you advise me which is the best and cheapest way? For example is something possible to do it west side to Myanmar? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling to Myanmar from Pai is not currently feasible as the border is closed. The nearest alternative is to exit through Laos. It is recommended to visit the border immigration office in Ranong to inquire about same-day border crossings, although it is likely they will not allow it. If denied, the alternative is to fly to Vietnam or Laos and stay there before returning to Thailand.

You should visit the border Immigration in Ranong ASAP (as soon as possible) and find out if they allow you a same-day border bounce. If they say NO (and they probably will) then you need plan B and fly to Vietnam or Laos and stay over there for a while before you come back

okay, then you got plenty of admitted stay left. No need for a border run. However it would be a good idea to ask Ranong Immigration, just in case. You cannot border bounce to Myanmar up north. You would have to use a land border to Laos. However it's the same over there: They will tell you to use an airport and fly to Laos instead, as on some borders the Thais won't allow you to make a same-day border bounce. are you 100% of that? Because here in Ranong they organise a boat to the border with Myanmar. A day trip just for visa 🤔

In Ranong it is possible. But Ranong is 1400kms from Pai. Long taxi ride.

You would soon find out something very surprising . . . . . . . . in Ranong, Immigration will not allow you to exit Thailand to take the boat to Kawthoung/Myanmar, if you plan a same-day border run. They will tell you that you won't be allowed back into Thailand, and that's why they don't let you exit Thailand. They don't want to leave you stranded in a land where a civil war is ongoing

be careful if your plans involve multiple border bounces using visa exempt entries. You won't get many of these.

the rules do not say that. The rules do not specify any limits by either air or land. But they have been cracking down on visa exempt entries in any case and more than 2 visa exempt entries (including the one you originally entered on) can be a real problem
