Have about 9 days to satisfy my METV. Since it's not a trip, I am looking for the cheapest/easiest place to go to from Chiang Mai. 

I have heard people crossing the boarder into Myanmar, but walking the boarder is new to me. But it is not far and a fun ride from Chiang Mai. Flying to other places seem easier just more expensive and more time traveling.  

Anyone have helpful advice?
