What is the appeals process if my one-year extension application is denied at Korat immigration?

I'm going to korat immigration tomorrow to, hopefully, get my first 1 year extension (Thai wife, 400K). I'm not expecting any problems but you never know. My question is, if it were to be denied, is there an appeals process and would I lodge it there and then? With the same IO that has refused my application?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about the appeals process for a one-year visa extension application, specifically if denied by Korat immigration. Comments clarify that reasons will be given for any denial and suggest having the Thai spouse negotiate directly with the immigration officer rather than immediately appealing, as appeals are processed in Bangkok. Additionally, reminders about submitting a valid bank statement within the correct time frame are noted.

You'll be right... As long as everything is in place. If not they'll just give you a list of jobs to complete and you go back with the corrections in a few days. Be mindful your bank account letter only lasts 7 days from date of issie

actually in Korat immigration the bank letter is only valid on the day of issue.

BTW you won't get your extension tomorrow. You'll get 30 day under consideration. You may get a visit at home from immigration

sorry for the confusion, I already had my " under consideration" stamp and am going to collect the complete 1 year stamp.

That's a pretty difficult question to answer, actually.

1. IF they deny you a one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national, they *ALWAYS* tell you why they rejected it, and what you can do to get the extension of stay (i.e. updated bank statement, etc...)

2. If, for some strange reason, they rejected your extension of stay outright, I highly recommend *NOT* trying to immediately ask for an appeal. I recommending having your wife negotiate with the immigration officer to try and approve it. IF the extension of stay is appealed, it'll go to Bangkok as I understand it.

thanks, as I said, I'm not expecting a problem but forewarned is forearmed. Thanks again.
