UPDATE/SOLVED:

With the proper documents, they put my adress on my work permit, which allowed me to have a thai driving licence and to open bank accounts. I did it at the same place where I got my W.P.3.

Hi everyone

I just received my work permit and I now need a Certificate of Residence, for driving licence and to open a bank account.

I was told I could have my adress (where I leave right now, at my gf's house) print on my work permit with the right documents (TM30 etc...) and that it would "replace" a certificate of residence.

This modification will be done at the same place where I got my WP3/ Work permit for a 300THB fee.

I would like to avoid the hassle of going to immigration or embassy if possible, the people where I did my work permit are super friendly.

Has anyone done this before?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully updated their work permit to include their address, which enabled them to obtain a Thai driving license and open bank accounts. They confirmed that the address was added at the same location where they obtained their work permit (WP3) for a fee of 300 THB. This modification is seen as sufficient to bypass the need for a separate Certificate of Residence.
