TLDR : Answer Summary
A bank certificate is an official document provided by banks to verify account balances. While some embassies may require a bank certificate, others might accept a bank statement instead. The requirements can vary by embassy, so it's crucial to check with them beforehand. Many users mentioned successfully using bank statements in English, sometimes with translations, while some faced issues with bank certificates not being accepted. If you have a Thai bank account, obtaining a bank certificate may be straightforward. Always confirm the specific documentation needed for your visa application.

Bank Certificate mostly imply for South East Asian nationals as some of our banks does not regularly publish statements, so the banks issue Certificates upon request where it can be verified by the embassies. It does not include details of transactions but rather how much this account holds.

I think it depends on the embassy. I only sent the balance certificate in Spanish, not English.

bank certificate is a statement from the bank writing to the embassy that the account you operate is yours. It will also state when you started operating the account

Some banks (like mine) call it a "Certificate of deposit" which will show account owner, amount of money in the account and some other details.

Check with the embassy that they actually accept the bank certificate. I provided a bank certificate to Taipei and they said they do not accept bank certificates. I pointed out the financial evidence detail in your OP, but they would not budge. Luckily it was an in-person application, I was able to rush to my hotel and get a bank statement printed out to avoid a rejection.

Where are you applying? Using a foreign bank or Thai bank?

DTV are not eligable for a Thai Bank account, since it is a tourist visa, so foreign bank is the only option.

If you own a Thai Bank account, they have an option to queue up for “Bank statement and certificate”. Very easy to get, they’ll just require a few signatures from you and they’ll get you both or either one of them as you requested

A bank certificate is an official document the bank can provide to verify the amount of money you have - essentially the same as a statement but they produce it. I just gave a bank statement and it was fine.
