TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers are inquiring about the weather conditions in Koh Samui and Phuket around Christmas, with a focus on the rainy season and holiday experiences. Comments indicate that while Koh Samui can have some rain in December, it remains warm and enjoyable for holidays. It's noted that the rainy season ends in October, with mild temperatures in December and January, making it a popular travel time despite occasional downpours.
I have been over her since the first of November. Did the first week of December in the Phuket area. One day of prtly light drizzle that felt cooling to walk in. BKK area has bee hot and humid with maybe two days with drizzle or light rain for part of the day. No info on KohSamui
. It did get cloudy & rained. But still warm and after a cloudburst, it was sunny. Just have an umbrella for the sudden downpour. It didn’t detract from our New Year Holiday.
Rainy season finishes October, maybe with some less rain in November, Dec/Jan is fine but is winter where temperatures may drop to 20c at night, maybe more in the north. I would check a Web app for more details.
