Hi everyone,

I’m applying for a DTV visa and need to submit my financial statement. I need to convert my amount into THB for the application.

1. Which exchange rate should I use (e.g., Central Bank, embassy rate, etc.)?

2. How did you calculate or present your financial balance when applying?

Any advice to me. Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a DTV visa, it's important to know which exchange rate to use for converting your financial statement into Thai Baht (THB). Some users recommend using the rate from a service like Xe and combining it with your bank statement, while others suggest simply providing your statement in your local currency, as the embassy can verify the conversion to THB.

I think you may be overthinking this. I just showed a bank statement in my local currency. The embassy is capable of looking up the THB worth….

Best to ensure you have 3-5% more than 500,000 in your account at the worst possible exchange rate

I used Xe and took screenshot of balance on statement showing in THB then merged this into same PDF as the statement. Im sure they can work out how to convert currencies though!

I wouldn't be so sure. Super rich uses a good exchange rate and would work in favor of the embassies. The Xe rate is always in the applicants favor.

My concern is that embassies might use the local exchange rate of the banks in those countries, such as Australia, which offers a miserable exchange rate for Baht.

Since they accepted Xe in your case, then great.

Xe uses mid market exchange rates, which are better than the ones you'll get in reality. I too use them but to be safe, I make sure I have above the minimum required funds in my account at the worst exchange rate. Like 510,000 Baht at the worst exchange rate out there, which may equate to 525,000 according to Bangkok Bank or 535,000 according to Xe.

well they accepted mine with Xe rate but thks concern. Im sure embassies dont use a SuperRich or the like rate to calculate balances they will use something like Xe as it is the proper rate.
