What are the predictions for Thailand's travel and lockdown situation in January 2022?

No chance worst case scenario is Thailand will keep the 24 hour quarantine and expensive PCR test let’s not forget this new variant is not putting people in hospital it’s like a bad flu

I think they will follow the example of other countries that is to restrict access from countries in the southern African region. Unless if the omicron strain becomes prevalent then they will lock down again.

It's anybody guess this early on. I suspect the 14 day quarantine will come back very soon, at least this until we know more about this strain

i don't recall when it was. I was already in Thailand so it didn't effect me. I'm not sure what will happen with sandbox though. They may go back to only Phuket sandbox since they can control island entry much easier.Though last time they stopped the lockdown they said there was no going back so if they stick with that I don't expect too much to change except maybe a few countries being banned for a couple months.

That's actually very helpful...I'm going to inquire at my ASQ about avaialbity for 14 days if need be. Was that this summer? I came back in July and left last week...ugh. I should have been more careful before I left.Brandon ************

they had just reduced Quarantine times for everyone and then Delta hit and they increased them back to 15 days for everyone and no leaving hotel room at all (before then you could go to the roof or a private area once per day for an hour to get out of your room). I'm not sure the exact timing but it caused a lot of people to have to change their ASQ reservations.Chris ****
