TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the complexities of obtaining a work permit and visa for self-employment in Thailand, particularly for a German citizen. Responses indicate that one cannot simply work as self-employed; establishing a Thai company is typically necessary. It was also suggested that consulting an accountant or lawyer is essential to navigate the legal requirements. The cost of such processes was not directly addressed in the conversation.
Unfortunately as I mentioned in my earlier post you need to go talk to someone about setting up a company etc. BUT because many of the people who do that also arrange visas and we have a NO agent referral or recommendation policy on the group I'm going to close this topic now before it deteriorates
You're not gonna pull a work permit and the appropriate visa on 'self employment'. You most likely are going to have to set up a thai company, and that's not related to this group. I'd say the first thing you need to do is to go talk to an accountant, or a Lawyer to find out what is involved with you setting up a thai company.
AND you definitely need to check and see if what you want to be employed as is prohibited to thais only or not too.
