Hi everyone!

My friend came to Thailand on tourist visa (4th Aug, 2022). The date on the passport says 2nd Oct, 2022.

What documents are needed to extend 30 days more? And when should he go to the immigration to extend?

Answer summary

To extend a tourist visa in Thailand, your friend should visit the immigration office when there are 30 days or less remaining on the visa. In major cities like Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai, they can also apply when they have up to 45 days left. It's advisable to go early since the extension adds additional days without any negative impact.

They add on the days so no downside to going early.

At most offices you can go when you have 30 days or less left.

In Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai you can go when you have 45 days left.

Alright. Thank you!!

That means you can't go before you have that many days left. You can't go if you still have 35 days left, have to wait until you have 30 or less.

no not at all. Just the extension fee of 1,900 baht. Copies and stuff as per the infographic

Sorry I don’t know why, but if they say your friend can’t they must have their reasons.

sorry to bother again. Now the agent is saying that my friend is not qualified to join visa run.

that is correct. Indian nationals cannot get a 30 day extension. They would have to leave and either return under the Visa on Arrival scheme or purchase another tourist visa in a nearby consulate.

my friend is from India. One of the visa agent said he can’t extend for 30 days and has to do visa run.
