This is a question about importing baggage. Has anyone used DHL Express? What documents do I need to receive the delivery?

Also, anyone who is looking for info on ASQ or entry, I arrived a few days ago and am in ASQ currently. 😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the process for receiving DHL Express deliveries in Thailand, specifically the necessary documents. They mention experiencing high customs fees with DHL and seek insights on how the customs fee process works. Additionally, they are currently in Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) and ask for related information.

Does DHL on the Thai side just say like here’s you package by the way there’s a customs fee of xxx please pay now?

Or what?

I’m considering door to door delivery

Had one box of medicine DHL to me , it was 300$ on the USA side and then I got hit with 7803 baht customs charge , and had to jump threw a few hoops but I have a six month supply now and it was a lot cheaper then a plane ticket

I have had credit cards sent to me, no issue.

I have a small laptop shipped to me, from a friend, insured $100usd. Duties were 60%.

Had my friend insured it for it's true value, probably $1500 - duties $900usd

it is crazy... about 4 years ago I had two debit cards sent to me at about $65.00. I thought that was outrageous - but then came the ultimate ripoff.

These days with TransferWise - moving money from the USA Bank to my Thai Bank

. I don't need an American Bank Debit Card.

My banks send them free of charge. They eat the shipping cost. Before I was having sent to a friend who would send them to me - but now I just request the bank send directly.. Given the bank the mailing address over the phone is fun, but it works.

A simple envelope containing a new issue Debit card (only) cost $120.00 from the USA to Thailand. Suitcase full of stuff? Just buy new.
