Here's a question for folks who have arrived in Thailand recently: What is it like once the flight lands? Do you walk directly to the immigration counter? What is the immigration officer looking for? Visa? COE? ASQ reservation? Covid test? Then after you collect your luggage how are you funneled to the transportation to the ASQ? Thank You.

TLDR : Answer Summary
After landing in Thailand, travelers can expect a highly organized immigration process. They will first walk to the immigration counter where they need to present various documents such as a visa, Certificate of Entry (COE), reservation for Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ), and possibly a COVID-19 test result. The immigration experience is described as smooth and controlled, akin to a production line, with travelers being guided throughout the process. It is advisable to have multiple copies of all necessary paperwork on hand. After completing immigration and collecting luggage, travelers are directed to transportation that will take them to their ASQ accommodation.

Just go where you're told to go.

My hospital and Covid insurance was for one year starting 01 dec 2020 and arrived Swampy 11 December. Several times during document checks was I warned my authorization to stay would not be for 365 days, yes I can calculate....thus until 30 nov 2021.

Be sure to have at least one copy of all your documents.

There are lots of checking of papers but we found it so much easier than normal . Our plane landed and we were in our ASQ within 90 minutes

There are hundreds of videos on YouTube that shows the process from the plane until the hotel. Very informative.

If you picture the amount of times you walked out thru customs and the first thing you see are Chinese tourists playing Follow the Flag ", then thats what its like ...being led from check to check , then finally released on floor 2 at your quarantine taxi pickup ...all seamless and controlled ...

leaving Australia you have to get an exemption from Dept of Home Affairs...reason to leave that most people use are to visit spouse's or will be overseas for more than 3 months ...either way they will need an exemption at this stage

then their best option is to go to the Embassy website ...all they need to know and more .. as for the actual travel part , get to the airport and follow orders ...that's it

For me, coming in a few days, all docs needed for review. ASQ driver from my hotel claims to be at gate 9 with hotel name sign.

What is the essential documentation that copies are needed?

Very fast and smooth process. Just have copies of all papers on hand. They guide you every step of the way until you are in ASQ.

You’re guided all the way. Not thing to worry about at all. Just make sure you have all the paperwork available.

Just have several copies of everything.
