Hello everyone! I'm currently applying for workation DTV in Malaysia and they are asking for so many things after the initial application.
I work remotely for a company and they ask me to provide the official registration and contract with apostille, so I'd need a notary too, so much bureaucracy compared to what I'm reading here...
I think I chose the wrong embassy, but I guess I'd have to go with it now that I've already applied.
On another requirement, they ask me to provide "Proof of prolonged residence in Thailand for at least 6 months", I've signed a shared contract in June 2025 for a year with possibility to extend even if I haven't been living there since June, but I prefer to have yearly contracts and keep the space rather than look for short terms when I arrive. Is this contract ok or could it raise some kind of "concern" and weaken my application?
I'm sure I have all the requirements but, since they are not always entirely clear, now I'm afraid to provide something "wrong" and then being rejected.
Or do they usually give chances to provide more docs/explanations if needed?
Thank you everyone for your support!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the user's experience with the bureaucratic requirements for a workation DTV visa application in Malaysia, focusing on the necessity of providing an official registration and an apostilled employment contract. They express concern over a requirement for 'Proof of prolonged residence in Thailand for at least 6 months' and seek clarity on whether their yearly accommodation contract meets this requirement. Comments from the community address typical requirements, emphasize the importance of authenticating documents, and suggest strategies for meeting the residency proof requirement.
If you think about it, it makes no sense at all, I have a yearly contract so I have to wait until it expires to renew it…maybe I could ask the owner to do an extension for extra months, I think that’s the best idea considering this
You must authenticate your contract and the business license of the company at the MFA and the chamber of comerce of the country where the company registered.
6 months booked accomodation will be fine.
I've applied from Malaysia and they asked me to provide the same things and my visa was approved.
I think they require 6mths booked accommodation from the given arrival date. Your contract until June 2026 likely questioned. Malaysia is infamous for the approval demands it makes, hence its' lack of popularity.
