My non-immigration visa expires on 10 November and I would like to extend my visa. I have a letter from my embassy to support this. Would you know of any other documents that I need to provide and can you confirm where do I get this done ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your non-immigration visa expiring on November 10, you will need a letter from your embassy confirming your inability to travel, which you already possess. It is advisable to visit your local immigration office to find out if any additional documents are required, as the rules may vary by office. Some immigration offices might offer extensions without the embassy letter, charging around 1,900 baht for a 60-day extension. Since your visa is not expired yet, you may qualify for these options and potentially benefit from new extension programs if they are initiated by your appointment time.

okay NOW we're getting some where, You are on an expired Non-B visa/extension AND you have a letter from your embassy stating you can't travel due to Covid-19. GO to the immigration office in the city you live in and apply for an extension based on not being able to travel.

Right now any extensions applied for between Sept 27 and Oct 31 will be dated as starting on the 1st of Nov. BUT because your visa doesn't expire until Nov 10 that doesn't affect you AND possibly by then they will have the 60 day extension program rolled out and you'll get 60 days instead of 30. :)

With the letter from the embassy you can visit your local immigration office and ask what they require. For many offices they are stamping people until the end of November. Some are saying they no longer need an embassy letter and will sell a 60 day extension for 1,900 baht - but all offices have different rules. You’d need to check with your one.

thank you for this info. You are the third person telling me this but I do have other conflicting information at the same time, I just wanted to find out more.

@Irene ******
I guess the conflicting information stems from the fact not all immigration offices operate the same policies. That why I mentioned you’d need to check your local one and what they say.

hi Stuart coming back to you , do you have similar situation in need to extend assuming you in Phuket did u get the extension with paying 1900baht ? I am Bangkok and would find it hard to digest that different rule applies to different city in the same country. I will check though

I have not seen any reports of people getting an extension past November 30th. But that’s probably because it’s a bit early for people to apply as yet. Plenty of reports of people getting the Nov 30 extension in both Phuket and Bangkok.

the reports on people getting the nov 30 extension does this mean they are extending this from

Nov 30 onwards ?

@Irene ******
people who are getting the Nov 30 stamp ALREADY applied for their extension using the embassy letter BEFORE Sept 26th <- the date the previous amnesty expired.

Some immigration offices have stated they will do a further 60 day extension (from Nov 30th) for 1,900 baht without the need for an embassy letter. Others have said they’d do it with a new embassy letter. Other offices are not even issuing the Nov 30 extensions yet and telling people to come back at the end of October.

Your visa extension has expired already if your work permit has been cancelled.
