TLDR : Answer Summary
When switching your visa extension from married to retired in Thailand, you are required to present an actual marriage certificate during the first application for the new extension. The new retirement extension starts immediately on the day of application, and the process is considered straightforward for both the applicant and officers.

the new extension starts the day you applied for it because you changed the reason for your extension, marriage to retirement.

Usually they ask for the Kor Ror 2 <- the paper from the Amphur that shows you're still married because if you'd gotten divorced during that marriage extension it would have been void from the day the decree was signed at the amphur and you'd be on overstay ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Thank you for your report...

Glad you were able to get your one year extension of stay as retired this time.
