Hey Guys,

I am going to apply for the DTV Soft Power Visa. Now they are talking about a Sponsorletter as alternative for the 500.000 baht. Does anyone know what the Sponsor letter needs to contain?

Would be aswsome to get some tips.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Sponsor Letter for the DTV Soft Power Visa serves as an alternative to demonstrating financial capacity (e.g., the 500,000 baht requirement). It’s generally used by individuals applying for dependants of someone who already has the DTV visa. Essential components may include a statement of sponsorship from the primary visa holder, detailing the family relationship, and the willingness to support the dependants financially. However, there have been instances where applicants were still required to provide further proof of financial resources, like pay slips or bank statements, even after submitting a sponsor letter.

I recently got my DTV and then applied for wife and daughter. They asked for a sponsor letter from me which i sent, then they came back and asked for pay slips, which i sent, AND THEN they came back for proof that i had the required money in the bank even though i had provided that for my visa... Anyway, i provided it and got visa 3 days later.

Generally the "sponsor letter" is for those applying for a dependant DTV based on someone who already received their DTV. The primary person can sponsor their spouse and children rather than show money in their accounts.

The only other reports I've seen related to sponsor letters were from direct family members, but even then I've seen reports of it being denied.
