TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a DTV Medical Soft Skill visa for Type 1 Diabetes treatment in Thailand, it is crucial to prepare thoroughly to increase your chances of a first-time approval. Key tips include: 1) Gather medical documentation such as a doctor's diagnosis letter, treatment plan, and proof of future appointments. A one-year treatment plan is recommended. 2) Include receipts for past treatments to show your ongoing commitment to healthcare in Thailand. 3) Ensure the clinic you choose is well-reputed and recognized for DTV visas. 4) Be proactive in contacting the embassy regarding specific requirements and be prepared with additional paperwork as necessary, especially for potential future renewals.

i got accepted for medical reasons. i'd already been in thailand receiving treatment, so just showed them all the receipts for the appointments i'd had. Plus a doctor's note/certificate thing stating my medical diagnosis and the treatment plan. plus proof of future appointments and treatment

presumably if you have type 1, you've been dealing with it all your life. so just show some paperwork showing that + evidence of spending money on treatment in thailand and it should be fine

if in doubt, err on the side of including more paperwork

one thing worth mentioning is, on the financial side of things, when you have to renew at 6 months they might ask for a bank certificate (i think it's called). which is like a bank statement of your entire banking history with the bank you apply with. not just the one account you have the money in

it depends on where you stay. but they didn't ask for it when i applied. but did when i went to renew. and i am unable to get it, because it requires returning home to pick up from the bank in person. so worth getting one before you leave even if they don't ask for it now. might save you some headaches later

I’m under a soft power medical DTV for physical therapy.

My medical proof included a doctor’s diagnosis and treatment plan, proof of upcoming schedule appointments (I had a 5 week treatment plan), and receipts showing my appointments were prepaid already. I had no issues using this evidence.

It’s probably best to do your treatment at a big well known hospital that has a good brand name reputation.

I got my DTV for medical soft power with a clinic. I had a letter from the clinic with a basic, not detailed, treatment plan for 2 years.

To answer each questions.

I had a full one year treatment. I would not take a risk with 6 months.

The doctor will definitely need to write a medical certificate stating your chronic disease etc.

They will probably call the clinic to check, so best is to prepare them for the call , so the doctor can tell them you are an actual patient. You don't want some incompetent receptionist answer the call and telling them you are not a patient.

Documents: Receipts, medical certificate, letter of doctor, treatment plan, appointment card, and if possible document proving the clinic is real.

Those are the documents I gave.

Best ask the question at the embassy where you a going to for your DTV.

Send them a mail , all embassy have there individual demands.

I'm not sure about clinics but from what I've seen you need a minimum of a 6 months treatment plan signed off by a recognised doctor on official letterhead of the facility

From what I understand you it’s always easier to applying In your home country and quicker

No idea on the minimum length but make sure the clinics are recognized for the DTV.
