TLDR : Answer Summary
A user has successfully obtained their Non-O visa and is now seeking advice on the next steps, specifically opening a bank account and registering a SIM card in their name. Community members offer congratulations and share insights, noting that obtaining a SIM card is straightforward with providers like AIS or True, but opening a bank account may pose challenges, as some have recently reported difficulty even with a long-term visa. Some users emphasize the importance of being patient and potentially visiting multiple branches to find a location willing to open the account. Additionally, there are inquiries about the necessity of a round trip ticket with the Non-O visa.

Good for you. Getting a sim won’t be difficult, choose from AIS or True (much of a muchness) registered in your name.
The bank account opening may not be so easy. Up until very recently there has never been a problem opening an account with a long term visa (like a Non O). But recently we have had numerous posts from people that have tried and failed at numerous branches to open one.
You may find that you’ll have to go to a number of different branches (even of the same bank) before you’ll find one willing to open one. You could be lucky and score first time out.
