TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is inquiring about applying for a Non-O visa after having overstayed their visa in Thailand. They seek guidance on the necessity of booking flights and accommodations for their visa application to the embassy in London. Responses suggest that they will need a travel itinerary and an address for their stay. They are advised that as long as their overstay was not significant, they should be able to obtain the Non-O visa, which qualifies as a retirement visa, and can eventually apply to extend it based on retirement criteria.

You'll need to provide a travel itinerary and a private or hotel address where you'll stay. If you're not banned, you should be able to apply for a Non O visa and enter Thailand.
The Non-O is the retirement visa. You don't get a Non-O and then apply for a retirement visa. Give the embassy a date of a flight, you can find on line. And a hotel for accomodation.
Lynnette Munoz he will apply for a Non-O Immigration Visa. If granted he can then apply to extend it based on retirement providing he meets the criteria. He could apply to extend for other reasons if he met the requirements now or in the future.
Allan Deacon His first 12 month extension must be for the same reason that the Non-O was issued so, for the first extension, 800k will need to be seasoned for two months in a Thai bank. He cannot apply for another reason even if he meets the requirements now, only in the future i.e. from year two onwards.
Allan Deacon yes I know he can extend his stay. He won't be getting a Non-O and then arriving and applying for a retirement visa. His Non-O he gets in UK IS the retirement visa.
