How has everyones experience been applying for the DTV extension? I need to go this week and I'm feeling a little nervous. This would be my first time extending. Any tips are appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many users suggest that applying for a DTV extension in Thailand can be challenging, with some experiencing difficulties at immigration. It's common for people to recommend cross-border exits instead, as it may be faster and less troublesome, allowing for a new 180-day entry. Users also advise that immigration officials often prefer not to issue extensions for DTVs, especially if the visa was issued in Southeast Asia.
It’s well documented in other posts on here that immigration seriously do not want to do extensions for a DTV. Although some have done so successfully I believe the hoops they had to jump through to do so will make them never want to do it again.
it depends on your own passport and whether you need a visa or not for that country. You could go to Laos, Cambodia (only by plane), Malasia, Myanmar or even to Singapore, Korea, etc.

Immigration don't want anything to do with the DTV. If yours was issued in SE Asia you're likely be refused outright.
