My family will be moving there and applying for a remote worker visa from my wifes job. Do we need 800k baht total in the bank? Or is that per person? I will not be working and just be on the spouse visa as i will just be collecting passive income from renting out my property.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a remote working option in Thailand, known as the DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) with a 'workcation' category, the requirement is to show 500,000 baht in a bank account. The amount of funds required may vary between individuals depending on the specific circumstances or the embassy's requirements.

There is no remote worker visa. There is the DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) that has a "workcation" category. One of the requirements of this visa is to show 500,000 baht in a bank account, not 800,000 baht.

Who is required to show the funds varies by embassy. Sometimes each person needs to show, sometimes only the primary person needs to show. You would have to check with the embassy you will apply through.
