Hello, I’m a Chinese national applying for an EDU visa at the Chinese embassy in Beijing. I just have a couple questions, I hope someone can help me out.

1. I’m required to have a minimum of 50,000rmb in my bank account. This isn’t a problem however someone told me that I need to have that amount in my account two months prior to applying for the visa or I need to have the money frozen in my account for two months. Can anyone shed some light as to whether or not this is true? Am I able to just show a bank statement with 50,000rmb. This would be a lot easier for me to do.

1. I’ve heard the wait time is anywhere between one week and two months. I will receive my paper work the beginning of September and am hoping to book my plane ticket for October 5th as that is when my apartment lease is up. Am I able to give a bribe to the embassy worker to speed up the process? When I applied for a tourist visa for Thailand a few months ago I went through an agent and they said they were able to expedite the application. I’m wondering if this is a possibility.

If anyone is able to help me out with these questions I’d greatly appreciate it.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Chinese national is seeking clarification on the requirements for an EDU visa application, particularly regarding the requirement of having 50,000 RMB in their bank account for a certain duration prior to application, and the actual processing times for the visa. Additionally, they raised concerns about the possibility of expediting the process through any means.

Here look and see what the processing time is

1- there is no amount of time you need to have the money in your account once you get the visa

What are you talking about the "wait time"?

normally you turn in your application one morning and pick it up the following afternoon.

Look at the website of the thai consulate you're going to be applying at in China (there are many thai consulates there) and see what they say about processing time

Hi Tod. Thanks for your reply. Once I hand in all the documents, I'm wondering about the time the embassy takes to process the visa and get the visa stamped in my passport.
