I have a question in relation to the 65,000 pm deposit for a Non O retirement Visa .... for the 2nd yearly renewal.

First is it correct that the deposit method is only avaliabile where your Embassy will not verify your pension .... which I understand is Australia, USA and the UK?

If that is correct what happens if your nationality is not one of those countries but you have lived and are a permanent resident of one .... ie a New Zealander that has lived and worked in Australia for 25 plus years whose bank accounts, driver licence, tax, investments etc are all in Australia.

I realise no one other than Hua Hin immigration can give a definitive answer but ......?

Thanks in advance ๐Ÿค—
Answer summary
The post discusses the requirements for the 65,000 THB monthly deposit method for renewing a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand, specifically in relation to the embassies' verification of pensions for expatriates. It questions whether this method is only available to certain nationalities and clarifies that it is accessible to any nationality, as long as they can provide proof of the required income through international transfers. The conversation emphasizes that the monthly deposit method can be used regardless of the individual's current nationality, as long as the funds are verifiably transferred to a Thai bank.

as long as your embassy accepts the documentation to verify your income it does not matter which country the income derives from.

advising you, I am a Kiwi but all my income is from Australia also, he looked after me and I will forever be grateful, I am on the Australian pension so pm me if you need any advice, just be aware that on the 65,000 baht a month system I have heard that it must come in each month,ie you cannot send it over a day early because it was a better exchange rate as it would then be categorised as qualifying for the previous month / 2 lots in one month and nothing the following month which would nullify your visa, I can't verify this but did read about it a couple of times ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜Š

Yes I know Tod is extremely knowledgeable and helpful ... actually all the moderators are on this site and there is no silliness which I appreciate too.

I am aware it needs to be in the month ..... I have set it up for early in the month to cover any processing delays.

Ok, the embassy normally requires your latest tax return or pension letter for affidavit letters and youโ€™ll probably be able to show your bank statements too so all you can do is to make an appointment and bring your documentation and see what theyโ€™ll say.

Nope that is not correct, and believe me far more than those 3 countries embassies here don't issue that letter..

The monthly deposit method is available for any nationality and just because you happen to come from a country whose embassy here does issue the income affidavit doesn't mean you can't use monthly income by international transfer as the means to meet the requirements.

I know several people who live up country, whose embassies DO issue the income affidavit BUT who don't want to slog down to bangkok to get it so meet the requirements by monthly transfer instead

The income affidavit from the country your passport is from is the only one accepted for monthly income method by embassy letter.

Doesn't matter in the least where you live, matters what country your passport is from and if you want to use the income letter you get it from that embassy here

BUT

as I said there is no rule that says you HAVE to use the income letter if your embassy issues it.

As long as you have a minimum of 65K baht a month transferred in from abroad, each month, every month, for the previous 12 months before you apply for the extension (and all those transfers code in your bank book as international origin) you can use that for proof of funds

So if I continue to get my pensions in my Canadian bank account and transfer 65,000 bhat each month, that will meet the requirement? I somehow had the idea that the deposit had to come from the source of my pensions.

as a canadian you can get the embassy income from abroad affidavit notary letter from the Canada Embassy in Bangkok,

they issue that letter no problem at all
