TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around an individual's query about their need to switch from a Thai wife visa to a retirement visa after five years, alongside concerns regarding their proof of income submitted to the British Embassy. Key insights suggest that if the individual meets the income requirements (65,000 Baht+ for retirement or 40,000 Baht for marriage), they should not face issues during the transition. Additionally, contributors share experiences about dealing with income and currency fluctuations, as well as logistical challenges associated with visa processing.

I started on a marriage visa and then switched to retirement, no problem at all, Brit embassy usually gets your documents back to you in 3-4 days, even though the website says up to 10 working days.

Try Skyscanner.net it will give you every flight and the price for the dates you want...you are probably going to have to use your UK cards and bite the bullet though :-)

Thanks thats fine , . I believe if your married you only need to show 40,000 baht a mth . Luckily im over the 65,000 baht anyway , 555 thats why i cant wait for the pound to recover i like that new ford pick up

Depends on your income Paul. If 65,000 Baht+ per month you can apply based on retirement or on marriage.

You shouldn't have any problems if you supply the documentation to the UK consulate so they can write that letter for you.
