TLDR : Answer Summary
You can return to Thailand without a minimum number of days required outside the country. To apply for a Certificate of Entry (CoE) while abroad, you should contact your local Thai embassy, as most embassies issue the CoE regardless of nationality, although visas must typically be obtained from the embassy corresponding to your passport.

None

>And How can I apply COE outside my hometown?

You'd contact your local Thai embassy. Almost all Thai embassies are issuing the CoE regardless of a person's nationality. However, you may be able to get a visa only from your local embassy from your passport.

Yes, I left in July 2020 and just got back.

They didn't like all the border run stamps I have in my passport as I usually come in on a 6 month multi entry visa. This time was a TR visa.

Honestly, I recommend getting married, OR if you have a child, parental rights. You can get a Non-O visa which will let you stay for 89 days, and can be extended:

Once by 60 days for an extension of stay based on visiting Thai family AND/OR;

Unlimited amount of times for a one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national/ raising half-Thai children

. Have you gone to the local Amphur of your previous wife and checked with them yet. They should be able to help you seeing a deceased spouse renders the marriage void and allows you remarry legally. To my knowledge, you will need a new ' freedom to marry declaration from your embassy to legally marry again and will require divorce papers or death certificate to get one.

That sounds about right, I was going to go to the US embassy to try and figure it out last year and then covid came along.

Her moms home and the hospital where she died are both in Don Muang so that's where I need to start.

Thank you for the advice, I've been dreading it because of the feelings it brings up, but its something I must do when I get out of quarantine. Perhaps I can start the inquiry process while I got all this free time right now. I have to.

Thanks.

. You probably know but the Bangkok imm office is virtually next door to Don Muang. If you registered at the Laksi Amphur, they are very foreigner friendly regarding marriage. We registered our marriage there with no issues at all. Also my wife's local Amphur.

I was married to a Thai citizen for 9 years and she died in 2015. I used to come in on a non-O visa.

I'm now remarried with a village ceremony, but have been procrastinating the legal certificate because its hard to get a straight answer for the procedure, and I have to track down the death certificate from her family that I no longer talk to.

I doubt the Thai immigration at the airport would reject anyone from entering Thailand right now. Anyone who is entering Thailand now will have to go through quarantine for 15 days, which is a minimum of 30K THB. Therefore, a person will have to spend at least 30K THB per trip in Thailand. There is no motivation to reject anyone.

I almost got rejected because I keep coming in on tourist visas and I have a non legal Thai wife.

They gave me a warning marked in the computer and said I'll be rejected next time unless I get a marriage certificate and come in on a marriage visa.

Just one. I heard *NO* reports of people being rejected at the airports for visiting Thailand too often.

isn't there some regulation restricting the maximum number of days to 180 in any calendar year for people on tourist visa?

There is *NO* regulations about people being restricted from being in Thailand for more then 180 calendar days. There *IS* a good rule of thumb (but not a formal law) in PRE-COVID-19 that if you enter and leave by air that you *MAY BE* rejected after 180 consecutive days. However, there are no reports of anyone being rejected for spending too much time in Thailand on visa exempts/ tourist visas since the airports reopened.
