What are the requirements for proof of funds when applying for a Thailand visa from Canada?

Canadian passport, considering applying for soft powerfrom Vietnam (so I can scope out gyms before choosing which one) as the Ottawa embassy is experiencing a large backlog.

I read a few months ago that the 500k proof needed to be "stamped by the bank" but when I did a "test" application, the site didn't specifically ask for it to be anything more than statements.

So I'm asking for clarification, can I just (CONDENSED ALL INTO ONE) the pdfs of the last 3 months of bank statements, proving the funds? Or do I need to get an official letter from the bank?

I have appreciated all the info the group has provided.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is considering applying for a soft power visa from Vietnam while dealing with a backlog at the Ottawa embassy. They seek clarification on whether submitting the last 3 months of bank statements suffices for the required proof of funds, or if an official bank letter is necessary. Comments indicate mixed experiences: while some confirm that regular bank statements are acceptable, others suggest obtaining a certified letter for smoother approval.

Ottawa asked me for a letter from my bank, even though I had more than enough in my account and the last 3 statements. Approved very quickly after that. Why not get that letter anyway? If you're in Canada right now just go to your bank and get it.

Recent approvals from Ottawa posted no requirement of needing certified bank statement. Submitting your bank statements is fine.
