Just picked up 2 month tourist visa at Thai Consulate, Istanbul. 3 days to process, need to show accomodation bookings for full length of stay. Very helpful staff.

Had to show onward flight within 2 months even though I will be applying for a 1 month extension. And full accommodation bookings for the 2 months. So I booked a cheap onward ticket which I will not use and booked ,accommodation through booking.com, printed reservation then cancelled it.

Thank you for your report. Its helpful to know that an American can obtain a Tourist visa in Instanbul without proof of Turkish residency.

Well I am from UK, British passport, and I do have Residence, but you can get without it.
