Do you know that your Immigration Office will accept the 40k monthly international transfers for year 2 onwards as many will not, it has to be Thai salary per month?

I just did my 2nd year extension and the 400k baht was required to be in the bank for 3 months (Korat immi).

You need the 400k baht in your bank for 2 months before you can apply for the 12 months extension of stay. Whether you can show 12 months worth of 40k international transfers next year will be down to your immigration office, an increasing number are only allowing this option for income earned in Thailand

The 400k has to be in the bank for at least 2 months before you can apply. Once your application is accepted you will be under consideration, which is usually 30 days, and you must keep the 400k in the bank during this time. Meanwhile you need to start transferring 40k baht every month so you have 12 complete months before you apply for your next extension. Make sure your transfers show as international. Once you receive your 12 month extension you are free to remove the 400k

Ian Morrison you don’t need international transfers with a marriage visa however a lot of offices won’t accept monthly on a marriage extension

The deposit is for the first year and once you got your 1 year visa you don’t need to keep that 400.000 anymore. Next year you can use the deposit every month

Danny Janssens wrong. Fir the first year you must do both if you intend to apply fir your second extension based on monthly income. To get it you must show 12 monthly deposits and meet the requirements of your first extension based on a banked lump sum.

True, in my case the Embassy from my country would confirm that. But I guess next year I will change my visa from marriage to retirement visa, more easy.

You have to put the

Nick Cartwright can you just put the 400,000 in there and not worry about adding every month just not touch it? Or is it necessary to show activity?

Joe Smith you don't have to add money every month if you do not wish to change your extension application to one based on monthly income. Just leave
*****
0 in the account. I'm not sure about the rules regarding how much of that and when you can remove it are but it could be similar to the extension based on being over 50. Check with your local office.

Joe Smith my immigration office told be that if there was small monthly activity on the account with my 800k in, then they wouldn’t require the actual annual bank letter and would be content with the bank statement. Specifically every month had to show activity. I make small deposits. Of course this is specific to the Immigration office and you should check with them before renewal.
