What’s required for extension at Patong Immigration office? Typically I’ve found this office to be very relaxed with their requirements on things, but not sure when it comes to DTV.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Extending a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) at the Patong Immigration office is generally not recommended due to strict requirements and a low success rate. It is said that the office prefers applicants to go to the main Phuket Town Immigration office instead. Key requirements for the extension include having at least 15 days left on your current visa, proof of 500,000 baht in a bank for at least 30 days before applying, and documentation such as a 90-day report receipt, TM30, lease agreement, and other related paperwork. Many users advise against attempting to extend and suggest doing a border run to Malaysia as a simpler alternative.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Service to get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Join the Thai Visa Advice Facebook Group to ask your questions, and get advice from others.

Go to the local Immigration website to search the asnwer there, or simply pop by and ask if they have a handout, or talk to the volunteers that is the right way to get the right information about how they do things at a specific Immigration office.

The easiest & most convenient option is to fly to a city in Malaysia I wouldn't even contemplate an extension with all the requirements & hoops they want you to jump through backwards etc...

You can Easily find same day return trip for under 3,000b

Good luck chief 🙏🏽

To add to what
@T**
said Immigration really really don’t want you to extend the DTV so they will make it as difficult as possible to do so.

There have been a few that have actually managed to get an extension there but probably not more than a dozen. Of those I suspect most won’t bother to try again as bouncing out by land via Ranong or by air to KL and back the same day is just so much easier.

Of course you’re free to try. You’ll almost certainly need to visit the office 3 or 4 times to provide all the stuff they need. Speak with the volunteers in Room 101. They have a hand out that lists the exact requirements, but the main ones are that you have at least 15 days left on your stamp and have 500k in a bank for at least 3 months. There’s a dozen more that you’ll need to meet.

As mentioned you can only apply at the main Phuket Town office, Patong nor Blue Tree do long term extensions.

I was able to extend under the remote worker category and it was fairly painless at the Phuket Town office. Staff there are great and I wouldn’t be deterred to do it again.

That’s great to hear. It certainly is an exception to “the rule”. I’ve met some who have also done an extension. Most said they wouldn’t bother again.

Wouldn’t waste my time just do a border bounce

You can't get a DTV extension at that office, you have to go to the main one AND the requirements are almost the exact documentation you used to apply for the visa

** 90 day report receipt, TM30, lease, land lord i/d, copies, TM7 form etc

**Show you're still enrolled in or doing what ever it was you used to get the visa

**Show that you have the 500K baht in a bank for 30 days before you apply

**Apply 2 weeks early (for some reason I believe that is a Phuket requirement)

I would say you need to slog on over to the Phuket main immigration office and get the list of requirements

Most people who tried have failed in their extension attempts there, and end up bouncing out/back to get a new 180 days
