Has anyone recently extended their DTV at Pattaya Immigration? My first 6 months expire at the beginning of October and I’d like to know which documents are required for the extension.

Please don’t suggest leaving the country, if it’s really impossible to extend, I’ll take a short trip abroad, but otherwise I’d prefer to extend.

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is looking for information regarding the required documents to extend their DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) at Pattaya Immigration before it expires. Responses indicate that the requirements can be unpredictable, with suggestions to bring all paperwork from the original visa application and to check with immigration for any additional demands they might impose. Some responses recommend having a minimum of 500,000 baht in a bank account for an extension and note that the process can be more complicated than initially obtaining the visa. There is a recurring sentiment that approaching immigration in person for precise requirements or consulting local agents might be beneficial.

Same requirements you used to apply for the DTV to begin with

I would go there and ask for a list of the requirements. I’d also talk to one of the many agents located in the same area as immigration and see what they have to say about it.

Go to immigration with all your paperwork from the visa application (updated), learn what else they want for extension from them.

From other people stories, they invent really crazy stuff like bringing your home owner id, and the plan of the unit and picture of you in it.

I think they don’t want to deal with DTV, don’t know why but extending is 100 times more than getting the visa itself.

Yes, much easier just to fly for a day trip.

that wouldn’t be a problem. I own the condo where I live.

Just listen to what people are suggesting. If you prefer being rejected at your immigration office, then go there. Otherwise do a border bounce and you'll have no problems whatsoever.

yeah, what I mean is they invent much unnecessary stuff that was not in the original application, Id and plan was example 😆

But yeah some people reported successful extension after multiple document fixing trips to immigration

If you have a minimum of 500k baht in a bank account for the 30 days before the date you try to extend you have a chance. ALL other paperwork needs to be updated and there will likely be extra requirements

Yes, I have 500k baht, they are in euro in a bank in Europe. Is that ok?

By all other paperworks, do you mean the same ones that were required when the DTV was issued? what extra requirements?

every immigration office has their own requirements. That's why you MUST go to YOUR immigration office and ask them for their list. As an example of making it difficult, Chiang Mai immigration will only accept proof of the 500k in a Thai bank account. Yes, they know DTV people cannot get a Thai bank account. That's the entire point.

Yes all paperwork you originally applied with updated. For example if you signed up for Muay Thai then that course MUST be extended

You're not going to find information about DTV extensions here. You must go to immigration and ask for their list of requirements. If they're even willing to give you a list, expect new items to be required that are not on the list each time you return to the office. Their goal is to make it so difficult and annoying that you leave Thailand. They'll even tell you that's the best option. 99% chance that's what you end up doing because immigration wants nothing to do with the DTV.
