Apart from the 800K bank deposit seasoning requirement, what are the other requirements for applying for an in-country non-O visa based on being over 50, in Bangkok? I have read in this group that a clear criminal record may be required. If so, is it one from Thailand, or it has to be from our home country? Wish to know if there is anything that takes time to arrange. TIA.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for an in-country Non-O visa in Bangkok for expats over 50, besides the 800,000 THB bank deposit seasoning requirement, you must have a minimum of 15 days remaining on your current visa. The funds must be transferred from abroad to a Thai bank account in your name. While there is no criminal background check required for this visa type within Thailand, obtaining a non-O visa may involve documentation like proof of income or bank statements for financial requirements. It's recommended to check the latest requirements from the Bangkok Immigration Office to ensure accuracy.

“7. Evidence of deposited money under Clause 5 and evidence of income under Clause 6 (for one year) showing the total amount not less than Baht 800,000”

Does that mean 1 year of bank statement showing an annual income of (the equivalent of) Baht 800,000? (When not depositing 800,000B and depending on the 65,000B/month method)

It also says “A letter of guarantee from the local or overseas Embassy or Consulate that proving the monthly pension of the Applicant..”

But some embassies don’t provide this??

Is that why the 1 year of statements are required?

Clause 7 is the mixed income method, where the savings + income = 800K THB.

>Does that mean 1 year of bank statement showing an annual income of (the equivalent of) Baht 800,000? (When not depositing 800,000B and depending on the 65,000B/month method)

No, it means you'll show one year of bank statements showing you have deposits and savings that total up to 800K THB.

> “A letter of guarantee from the local or overseas Embassy or Consulate that proving the monthly pension of the Applicant..”

That would be the embassy letters showing a person has income of at least 65K THB.

>Is that why the 1 year of statements are required?

If a person can get an embassy letter, they can not use the income method. I do not know if they are able to use the mix income+savings method.

FYI. The requirement list from the Bangkok Immigration office. Cannot guarantee this is the latest, but this can help you at least, I believe. You need to get the newest one at CW in advance.

these requirements are for when you are already in the country ,and want to change current visa to the retirement N - O - correct ?

Do you happen to know if these requirements cover changing from the Thai Elite "PE " visa To the retirement N- O ??

Thanks

@Mi**
, right, this is the requirement for people to change the visa type inside Thailand.

And, no, this requirement does not cover the process from Elite as you can read in 1.1 & 1.2

There is no seasoning of 800k baht when you use banked money method to get the initial 90 day Non-O visa at the immigration office. The requirement is that it is transferred from abroad into a thai bank account in your name only.

There is no back ground check required to get a Non-O visa issued inside the country (that's to get an O-A visa in your country before you come here)

You need a minimum of 15 days left on your visa exempt or tourist visa stamp at most immigration offices to apply for the in country Non-O visa. <- that's because the application goes under review for 14 days and then you go back to get the Non-O visa and a new 90 day stamp inked in.
