What are the requirements for applying for a workcation visa in Thailand if I own a UK Ltd company?

Will be applying for workaction visa, probably from within an Asian city soon. I have my own UK Ltd company but I am not paying myself regularly from it, apart from a small amount of dividends to a personal account. No problem showing 500,000 baht in £s and a regular income from the business account, but will they expect this to be in a personal account? Obviously my business account goes under the name of my LTD company, although I am the sole director. I could show 500,000 baht in a personal account if I had to. Any other tips from someone applying with their own UK Ltd company? I pay personal tax in an EU country, as I am currently resident there.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a workcation visa in Thailand while owning a UK Ltd company, it is essential to have the required 500,000 baht in a personal bank account, as funds from a business account are not accepted. You should provide details on how you operate your business online and potentially write a letter to yourself granting permission to work remotely in Thailand. Many recommend applying through the UK embassy due to the clarity in documentation and reduced risk of issues with your application.

Who is applying for a visa, you or your compagny ?

Of course the 500.000 have to be on the account of the one applying for visa.

Why babble about income, there is no income requirement.

If the bulk of the documentation is from UK, and that’s where you are resident, then that is also the best place to apply, with less risk of documents being rejected / not understood.

Funds in a business account are irrelevant. Even if you own 100% of the business the funds in that account are the business funds not yours.

You’ll need them in a personal account.

I found the UK embassy efficient and sensible - if you're in the UK I'd consider applying there rather than in SE Asia. Workcation from home country seems to be the 'gold standard' for DTVs.

absolutely ✅

You'll need your funds for the visa in a personal account checking or savings only - nothing of an investment style. You'll want to do the soft power route Muay Thai or cooking classes as your not a digital nomad. Fight EVO360 Thailand - Thepprasit Boxing Stadium is familiar with the dtv, sends all documents same day. Good luck.

I am a digital nomad, have been for many years and the business is entirely run online. Not sure why I wouldn't be considered a DN?

Anonymous participant you mentioned a UK business, at no point did you say you were actively working online. Many people being rejected for workcation if not actually working online with pay stubs and tax returns. Soft power much easier and don't need to show income, just money in the bank.

Yes, fair enough I didn't state that I am also working remotely. My understanding is that you don't have to show income anyway, only the 500k in a personal bank?

Anonymous participant You don't have to show income but they can/often request evidence of income via a tax return, payslips or bank statements with income deposits etc.

Correct ✅ and we're seeing the request for added documents more often than before.

Yes the 500K must be in a personal account. Detail how you run the business online. Write a letter to yourself giving permission to work remotely in Thailand. Seems strange I know but it is needed. You can find other business owner posts in the threads to get a lot of useful info.
