Hi, I have used up the 2 allowable overland visa exempt entries for Thailand, this calendar year. If I am granted a 60 day tourist visa from Phnom Penh Thai consulate, is it ok to overland with this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has consumed their 2 allowable overland visa exempt entries for the year and inquires about the feasibility of entering Thailand overland with a newly obtained 60-day tourist visa from the Thai consulate in Phnom Penh. A comment confirms that it is possible to enter Thailand via land borders if holding a valid Thai visa, though it does not guarantee entry. The responder cautions about the potential scrutiny from immigration, especially given the user's prior visa usage and lengthy stay intentions.

YES IF you have a Thai Visa, you can enter Thailand by land border crossing entries.

However, saying that, there's NO guarantee that Thai Immigration Officer who greets you on arrival into Thailand will grant you entry.

And if you have a recent history of staying in Thailand with use of various visas and Visa Exempt Entry with extensions, Suggest you choose carefully the Thai Embassy or Consulate which you will be making application for a New Thai tourist visa.

What is your passport nation?

And as you are age 50+, there are other options for your stay in Thailand.

Are you Married to Thai?

Father of Thai child?

Just how long are you really planning on staying in Thailand?

How long have you Already been in Thailand? During the past year or two?

thanks for your prompt reply. I carry a UK pp. I came to Thailand from Cambodia, after the borders opened, after the COVID. Since then had a few visa exempt via land and one fly in. I intend to organise the Non O option within the tourist visa period. I am currently in Phnom Penh.

@Billy ******
please see my updated reply above. You may be asked by Thai Immigration Officer...Why you stay in Thailand so many times.

@Billy ******
looking at the Thai Embassy website for Phnom Penh, I see listed the Non O Visa for retirement... I'm NOT sure if you can Apply for it... BUT IF you can... Suggest you ask them and apply for the Non O Visa as retiree.

then roll the dice ๐ŸŽฒ.

Wishing you success ๐Ÿ€

***Be sure you have 20,000 Thai baht or its equivalent to show the Thai Immigration Officer who might ask on your arrival into Thailand...

***Along with proof of a flight departing Thailand within the 30 days stamp you will receive on arrival into Thailand

***And the Address of your stay during the initial days from arrival.

Take care...

It appears that it may be easier to get the Non O Visa as a retiree in Phnom Penh... Than getting it in Thailand. And with the Non O Visa, NOT a worry about being allowed to enter Thailand.

@Billy ******
then you can try to get the Thai tourist visa in Phnom Penh Thai Embassy. But be prepared if that denied your application as you have been in Thailand several times already as you have stated.

We wish you success...
