Hello everyone,

I’m thrilled to share that my DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) was approved today by the Hanoi embassy! It’s such a relief, and I’m still in awe that such a visa exists—it feels absolutely amazing. I applied as a remote worker, and this opens up so many exciting possibilities for me.

A huge thank you to everyone in this group for the invaluable information and support. It’s been incredibly helpful throughout this process.

Next on my list is finding a great place to live and opening a Thai bank account. A new chapter is beginning, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead. I wish the same success for all of you pursuing this visa!

If anyone has questions or needs advice, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help!

online. They don't accept in person

Anonymous participant did you ever need to visit the Thai embassy in person there? I'm not interested in going to Hanoi or HCMC due to horrible air quality.

Thinking if I could just fly straight to danang and submit the online dtv app to the Hanoi Thai embassy. Thanks

Anonymous participant how long did approval take?

Even retirees switching from non-O to DTV are celebrating! 👍👍👍

Anonymous participant 642 i really don't see the benefit for retirees

Avoiding the 800k lump sum in the bank is a big one. For regular travellers no need to visit an immigration office, cheaper over five years, no specific date for extension. Big bonuses

Anonymous participant 642 really? What are you going to live on? You can only avoid immigration if you exit before 90 days. It's a tourist visa so none of the benefits of a Non-O such as 5 year driving licence etc

@John *********
Actually 180 days. I travel frequently. Don't have a Thai driver's licence. I live on money I bring in. I'm saying there's no financial criteria requiring a DTV holder to keep a meaningless 800k in a useless Thai bank account! 😆
John **********
Anonymous participant 642 you need to do a 90 day report if you spend 90 consecutive days inside Thailand.

I paid my agent 300 baht to do my 90 day report. Didn't even have to give my passport. That shows how much I hate going to Immigration.

@Sean ******
you can do it online other than for the first report

In theory yes, but in practice with the DTV, as no visit to immigration is required, you just leave and re-enter within 180 days. The immigration at the airport don't care about 90-day reports.
