What are the requirements and timing for extending a 30-day visa in Thailand for Swiss citizens?

Question

Hello guys!
I have a free visa for 30 days in Thailand, since I am Swiss. I would like to do a visa extension at an immigration office. But I have some questions, can you help me?
1) How many days in advance can I go to the Immigration Office?
2) What documents will they specifically need from me?

Thank you!
Kind regards, Saskia

how about FIRST stating where you are in thailand so people know what immigration office you're thinking of using? 🙁

MOST offices let you go when you have 30 days or less on your current stamp (so for you any time) BUT some (Jomtien and Samui) want you to go when you have a week or less left

AND

You won't lose any days going early because the 30 days is added to your current stamp expiration date
