What are the requirements for a retirement visa in Thailand if I don't have the full 800,000 baht in liquid assets?

Good afternoon and happy new year!

I have a question about the so-called visa financial support letter from the embassy. I am familiar with the procedure and requirements for a retirement visa. However, I do not have the required 400k baht in liquid form at the moment. Has any of you knowledge (or your own experience) with the acceptance of this document by immigration? Of course I will also go to immigration myself. If you would like to share your knowledge or experience about this, it would be greatly appreciated!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about obtaining a retirement visa in Thailand without having the required 800,000 baht in liquid funds. Comments suggest that applicants can potentially use proof of monthly income, specifically noting that a minimum of 65,000 baht per month is necessary, along with documentation from the embassy confirming the income. The process for verification at the embassy and submission of required documents to immigration is also discussed.

You have asked about this before, and the answer is still that you can apply based on monthly income, minimum 65,000 baht per month for retirement and 40,000 baht per month for marriage, provided that your embassy in Bangkok issues an affidavit letter, which you have already confirmed that it does (the Dutch embassy).

If you are applying for a non-O visa from a Thai embassy outside of Thailand, they will likely accept proof of pension or some other proof of income if you have it. For retirement it's 800,000 baht in the bank, or proof of 65,000 baht per month. The 400,000 you state is for marriage visa, not retirement.

So the first thing you need to find out is if your embassy in Thailand offers income verification.

If they do, you'll need to find out what their process is to get them to provide you with an office verification certificate.

This certificate must show you make at least 65,000 baht per month.

You would then take that certificate to immigration with you to obtain your visa/extension, along with all other requirements.
