... Feel like such an idiot. I really didn't know that a tourist must also be reported to immigration within 24 hours after arrival for address purposes. I was under the impression that it was only for people coming to work in Thailand. So yesterday 5 Immigration officers walked into my husbands' shop, took us all to Immigration crime center and we got fined for not reporting them within 24-hours. It was quite an embarrassment for the tourists, but never the less, please remember to report your visitors to Immigration to avoid them feeling uncomfortable or like criminals when they are followed to the public toilet ๐๐
TLDR : Answer Summary
A tourist in Thailand is required to report their address to immigration within 24 hours of arrival. Failure to do so can result in fines and legal issues, even if the tourist was unaware of this requirement. It is important for tourists, as well as anyone receiving visitors, to be aware of these rules to avoid uncomfortable situations.
