Anyone have advice on supplements you can take into Thailand. Have heart disease and take no prescription drugs but vitamins and amino acids. Have retirement visa, Thai wife etc.....travelling from the UK....constructive knowledge and previous experience appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling to Thailand with health supplements is generally accepted, as many users report bringing in vitamins and amino acids without issue. It’s advisable to carry supplements in original packaging, and while it's encouraged to check government websites for regulations, many travelers have successfully transported their supplements without scrutiny. Some users noted the high cost of vitamins in Thailand compared to their home countries, suggesting that bringing your own supply may be beneficial for regular users.

Vitamins, no problems. I buy most of them online at websites like Lazada and iHerb and have them sent to me. As for other meds, I get all my meds filled here with no problems. Even some prescription meds from home I can just buy at the pharmacy. Some meds are called different names in this part of the world, but if you take the names of your medicine to the pharmacist they can match you up with the right medications that are the same thing.

It’s easier to buy quality vitamins in Thailand.

I buy from a legit company that has been around since 1945.

They have many products other then just vitamins.

Not a very good advice. You must have missed that vitamins and supplements are up to 10 times more expensive in Thailand compared to western countries.

I take TONS of various supplements into or out of Thailand with me every time with 0 questions or 0 scrutiny and have been doing so for years. Same with medicines, well what little I take.

Just keep in mind supplements aren't illegal and are commercially packaged and as long as you're not bringing in like a bulk shipment or something you have absolutely nothing to worry about. 3 trips in the last year for me and the most recent a few months ago and my supplements always come with me.

I take lots of vitamins in to Thailand heading back next week with all of my supplements

@Craig *****
Why would they check your luggage? No one has ever checked my luggage at any airport in Thailand.

The only reliable information will be from a government website.

Not the same but I wanted to take prescription medication to the UK. The UK limits it to two months worth and must be less than the personal allowance in value or it is taxed on the whole amount, not just the excess. That information was taken from .gov so I cannot imagine Thailand is different. Also it will tell you if any supplement is banned.

Having said that I take a years supply of a collagen type supplement with no issues. Never been stopped yet.

my wife gets it off Lazada but I use something called Jointace which is difficult to get hold of and expensive.
