What are the recent changes regarding visa exemption and TDAC for entry into Thailand?

Dear all. I just want to say something here. I have read a lot here and other platforms that people complain that they are denied immigration if they want to have an exemption visa. I made a visa run today for my first non OA. I stood at Krabi in a row of about 100 people. At least 10 people were sent to the side because they simply did not have the TDAC. Why don't people check what they need when they want to come to Thailand with a certain visa? But they are complaining...so just experienced this today. Just so stupid. So don't complain and just fill in the paperwork you have a wonderful stay here.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights recent experiences and frustrations regarding the new TDAC requirement for entry into Thailand. A user recounts observing many individuals being denied entry due to a lack of the necessary TDAC form during their visa run at Krabi. The comments reflect various opinions on the necessity for travelers to stay updated with visa rules and forms, as well as general concerns around immigration procedures and complaints within the expat community.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Ive forgot about the tdac twice now since it was introduced. I didnt complain though I simply did it on my phone when I was in the huge immigration queue!! Takes five minutes, if that. People just like to complain.

Of course it is wise to look up entry information.

The TDAC is relatively new. 1st May 2025. Many people book their holidays months in advance. If you’re not on visa forums like this you may have no clue of a change in rules from when you booked until arrival date.

Calling someone stupid for not being up to date with changes is a bit far.

To enable the changes the Thai government have made terminals available at entry points to enable those without a TDAC to do one. Yes the lines may be long to do it but it can be done.

Completing electronic arrival cards is becoming common in many countries. I don't understand why coming to Thailand seems to be so difficult.

Ron Duke It isn’t. The TDAC is simple but people are complaining about visa exemption, renewals and border runs.

Lots of talk about people getting denied but Very few people get denied .

There are 700 - 800 flights arrive & depart everyday in Bangkok

What does TDAC have to do with a Visa Renewal ?

Currently in Vietnam. Hope you’re right about not being denied. I’m headed back to Thailand next month. I’ve found that if you’re pleasant and don’t argue with the immigration officer , they’re very understanding. Next visit I’m going to get the METV.

Dan Brown What I saw yesterday in Krabi. Many had no tdac, but there was even a table with an officer who helped filling in the Tdac. It really depends on the kind of border and what officer I think.
