Hello everyone ! My boyfriend and I will be travelling to Thailand in May, we have both very recently tested positive for Covid. I am worried that our PCR tests on arrival will still test positive…
If we have a declaration from a Doctor in our home country stating that we no longer have COVID will we still have to quarantine ? How does it all work ?
Edit: we are South Africans 🙂

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses concerns about COVID-19 PCR test results upon arrival in Thailand for travelers who have recently tested positive for the virus. The main question is whether a doctor's declaration from their home country would exempt them from quarantine. Comments suggest that while recovery letters may be beneficial, quarantine duration appears to depend on test results, vaccination status, and discretion of local healthcare authorities. Travelers are advised to check the latest regulations and be prepared for possible quarantine.
If you test positive, and have a recovery letter from your doctor, you will still have to do the long quarantine if you don't have at least one covid vaccination.
It's completely at the discretion of the doctors with the partner hospital of your test&go hotel. They will look at your PCR test results and if you have any symptoms or not. If you have a high CT count, no symptoms, and a recovery letter showing you first tested positive within 90 days ago, then they may let it skip isolation.
